  • Patterns
    • 1. Create social currency-get people talking 
      • what types of messages/content do we share online?
        • we post things to boost other people's perceptions of us
        • create content that people want to talk about and share because it makes them look good
        • people, by nature, love to share information with others
        • tweets are "me" focused
        • brain is wired to share information about ourselves with others
      • inner remarkability
        • "unusual, extraordinary, or worthy of attention"
        • they make people who talk about them seem more remarkable
      • create buzz off an interesting/unexpected story
      • break a pattern that people come to expect
        • ex. McDonalds offering breakfast all day
      • mysteries and controversy are often remarkable 
        • ex. Donald Trump
