Emotions

How do emotions play a role in creating social currency?
Are emotions equal? Just because content is emotional, does that mean people want to share it?

Create Emotional Arousal

"When trying to use emotions to drive sharing, remember to pick ones that kindle the fire: select high-arousal emotions that drive people to action. One the positive side, excite people or inspire them by showing them how they can make a difference. On the negative side, make people mad, not sad."

  • Tell a story
  • Humor
    • connects people with each other
"Emotions highlights our similarities and reminds us how much we have in common. Emotion sharing is thus a bit like social glue, maintaining and strengthening relationships. Even if we're not in the same place, the fact that we both feel the same way bonds us together."

What emotions will my audience respond to?
